In mid-2014, the African American Home Movie Archive’s Black Home Movie Index was created as an online resource for researchers, educators, students, archive and library professionals, and other interested parties. The index is complete with collection names, scope & content, dates, links to online finding aids, video streaming links (if provided by the holding institution), and contact information for each participating institution, the virtual archive aims to serve as a liaison for African American home movie research by streamlining access to this information.

In addition to the Black Home Movie Index, AAHMA collects, digitizes, and provides online access to its growing collection of Black amateur films and home movies.
